Twin (or close) mattreses.......
« on: July 28, 2006, 02:30:29 PM »
We're in the re-construction stage and will be building twin beds (bunks) in the bedroom.   I've 'Googled' mattreses and have come up companies who are in ....God knows where. :-\

Has anyone bought a comfortable, made to order mattress that they're happy with?  We're going for the twin beds....well because we're old and in our bus we have wheel wells. ;)

Some advice needed please....... :-*

Bob,

Knox foam.

http://www.knoxfoam.com/

Made to order in any size, standard a little cheaper.

We bought our bunks and master mattress from them

5" medium foam with 2" memory on top.

And we sleep like babies on them. ;)

Not one complaint from anyone in the family.

Also purchased the custom zip on cover that they make.  Water proof.

Be sure to use the long single that is 78"x39".  Then you can put them together if you want and create an east coast king.  West coast king is 84"x72".  Good Luck, TomC

Check yellow pages of phone book for nearest large city.  Should be several mattress outfits that will build to suit.  I am going through that process now in Portland OR area, found several that will custom build.

Befor you go and buy a custom size check the availability of sheets, blankets ect. Unless you or the little lady is a seamstressyou can run into some problems there.
I have a short queen and am disapointed in the selection and value of what is available, but that is just my opinion.
