South East Bus Nuts upcoming spring rally
« on: February 24, 2010, 02:42:33 PM »
I think this has been mentioned some while ago, but just a reminder that our spring rally - April in the Carolinas - will be held once again at beautiful Palmetto Cove Rally Park in Cleveland SC (west of Spartanburg) on April 22-25, 2010.
This rally is making a special effort to involve the more northly SEBN members from the Carolinas, north GA, etc., and is aimed at welcoming all bus enthusiasts and wannabees whether SEBN members or not. Last year we had 32 coaches at this pristine mountain park, and this time we're shooting for many more.
Those northern members involved in parts of this event so far include JR Lynch, Tom Hamrick, Marty & Debby Nixon, Howard Best, Gary LaBombard, Kyle Brandt, Bill Gibson, Leroy and Lila Ashe, Ed and Anne Gallant and Don and Sarah Riddle, and Minerva Bullock among others.
Watch this space for more info and registration details. The reg fee will be $39, plus $20 per night camping.
     More as it develops!

Mike,
Last year was our first bus rally & we had a blast. Really look forward to this year as we will already know some folks that we met last year. It was great meeting people from different walks of life who had the same interests in mind. Even if the bus has to limp in there we'll be there... Oh wait, did that last year. :o

Definately a rally to attend. Between all the great food, knowledgeable people there and the beautiful views from the campground, if you are anywhere in the area, try to attend.  Jack

My wife and I are putting this rally on our calendar, we plan to drop down from Canada and say Hi.  Of course, we are at this instant winning the gold medal match in Womens Hockey, so I hope we will still be welcome...end of second period, it's all still to play for!

I would appreciate any additional information that might be available, on the SEBN's, the rally, any activities that might be planned, advice on if I should bring a Toad, etc.  We've never been to a bus rally before...

Cheers, Brian

Your own toad will be convenient, but there will be several of us there with cars, so getting a ride somewhere will be easy.  ;D  8)

Hello everyone,

For anyone that has not been to Palmetto Cove Campground Rallies, located at Cleveland, SC here is some video links from Youtube I posted about the South East Bus rally held there in April last Year.  There is 3 video's concerning that rally and one more video of sights within 5 miles of the Palmetto Cove Campground.  As stated above, the campground scenery is something that you just want to deeply breath in and remember so you have something to look forward to in making plans to attend again. Bring your camera's.

I predict this rally to be one of the biggest for SEBN and hope you will plan to attend, if so please notify Mike & Carol Heron of your expected attendance so they can make plans you will thoroughly enjoy.  This is a lot of work for them so please commit yourself in your attendance to make their job easier and you will surely be very satisfied that you did.

Here are the 3 videos of last years (Southeast Busnuts Rally) held at Palmetto Cove and one extra video from a rally we also enjoyed at Palmetto Cove sponsored by Kyle Brandt, the video has views of neighborhood  attractions very close to Palmetto Cove Campground.

SouthEast Busnuts Rally, Video #2, April 2009, Palmetto Cove Campground, Cleveland, SC

Southeast Busnuts Rally, Video #3, April 2009, Palmetto Cove

This is the video from (Kyle's "Non-Bus Rally"), held in October of 2009, This video is of area attractions near Palmetto Cove Campground:

Don't delay, come to Palmetto Cove in April to play,
Take care, Hope this information helps you decide.

Kyle

Just organize bus races to the top of the mountain. Could be a great hill climb just like in british cars.

Right, you & your souped-up & hot rodded 4104 would easily beat most bikes up there!

Wait a minute, don't british cars require frequent road side repairs? The road shoulders ain't wide enough for buses, so we can't have a hill climb "just like british cars" .  :o  ::)  ;D

Hey there Brian and others interested in the April in the Carolinas rally! Thanks for the nice posts. We will welcome you with open arms, despite Canada's hockey victory!
As soon as our club newsletter editor gets the basic schedule and rate info out to our own membership, which should be any day, I will post all  the details (schedule of events, driving instructions, reg form, etc.), on the BCBB for all to see.
For now, know that things will begin as early as Wednesday the 21st with a light dinner. The rally fees are $39. (US) per coach -  two people, $20. ea additional person, not including camping, which is only $20. per night, full hook-ups.
Cheers!
Mike

Just can't wait!   ;D

We'll have a pickin session too...long as it don't snow or something!

Kyle, what's the hall availability looking like for Friday or Saturday?  Just in case the weather doesn't cooperate...which it hasn't for the last 4 months.   I want to de-winterize the bus, but the weather dudette is calling for snow again Tuesday and lows all week in the teens and low twenties...???    >:(

Maybe Jack and Paula will bring some of that Florida weather up with them!  Florida Sunshine!   8) :o :)

Just to make you feel better we had to close the door and windows on the bus a little while ago because we had a rain storm come thru the Foothills area of Yuma. The temp dropped from in the 80's to the lower 60's.  We did get a very nice double rainbow out of it though.   ;D
