1. Family of 6 does not fit well in S&S without using up couches and tables as beds
2. Storage.
3. Heavy duty
4. Parts availability (diesel parts are easy to get in Seattle)
5. They are cool and a good husband/wife building project (this may be #1).

#1-When I was driving truck, I saw many a S&S turn into a pile of sticks.
#2-I know that buses are built like tanks to safety standards.
#3-Most buses use the same equipment as commercial trucks that are both long lasting and easily obtainable.
#4-I've never seen a floor plan I really liked.
#5-When I was driving truck, I saw many a S&S turn into a pile of sticks.

I have a friend that bought a classic 20ft Winnebagel.  I told him to never get in an accident with it-it will fall apart.  Somehow, they never like to hear that.  Good Luck, TomC

Do you look good in it????and all the others good reasons....Structural issues are hardest to overcome...A sticks and staples or Le toilets(as one friend refers to them)..are built as glitz...not for the long haul.buses were ment to endure year after year millions of miles..go for a ride in both..that should answer all questions..

Number 1 reason, SAFETY, I have seen wrecked buses and I have seen wrecked RVs.  I'll take a bus everytime
Other reasons:
wife prefers a bus
the sound of that 2 stroke
the ride & handling
storage space

I ask a top end s&s salesman to compare a American Heritage ride to a regular old Prevost and he said the Prevo was much better..He is selling a 700 grand sticks and staples and said that.

It's sorta kinda of like airplanes, hot rods, motorcycles, guns and boats, if I have to explain it You will not possibly understand!  I love My junk including old John Deere tractors they make My day.  Never saw a sticks glue and nails that had stainless floors and beautiful stainless sides.  I love My bus it smiles at me every time the old DD whistles to life.  Any questions?  John L

#5 - what other 8 wheeled hobby can you spend your life savings on?

#4 - "wtf is that game" is not near as fun of a game when old diesel engines, old air rids systems, and 1 million wires running to everywhere aren't involved...

#3 - these old girls never break down, they have little genies that keep them running....its magic.

#2 - parking these dancing fairy's is like sticking a needle into a 5 gallon bucket - no probs.

#1 - 5 mpg's - 130 gallon tanks....mmmmmhmmmmmm - man thats great!!!!!

..........oh wait, you wanted reasons to support these big pigs.........give me a couple more years...I'll think of one or two

I sure do miss the old girl......
