Did that rally 'go away' ?

It was at Southern Oregon Diesel, as I remember it.

This inter club coop is heartening to me.  I was unable to gain any traction with the PO.

Norivets,

FYI,

Southern Or. Diesel is owned by Dave make that DAVID.  He is also Pres of the NW chapter.  SOD is located in Roesberg and Ricreall is about an hour and a half north of there.  Pics of the past rallies are posted on their board.  I think there were 80 coaches there of every stripe last year and a few of the presentations/classes were conducted by our members on the western end of the country  They have a solid agenda and lots of local crafts and such.  Many travel up from NV, Az and So Cal and lots come down from Canada.

I hope we are well represented again this year as we were last time.

Hey John,

Rickreall is around 2 1/2 hours north of Roseburg, and about 30 mins, west of Salem, my home town.

HTH  ;D

Traffic moves at 75 to 80 as a norm.  I was pulled over by a trooper and he said "your speed was 73.5 and that's OK".  The limit is posted 65 but ignored.  The troopers I know say that 80 is the point that they ticket "between" cities and out in the open.  I make the 55 miles to Roseburg in an hour and a couple minutes but there is a lot of reduced speed zones.  I do Portland VA in 1.5 hours drive time.  A stop at Popeye's is a must.  I thought I made Salem in a little less than an hour.  So you are more right than I am.... happens all the time.  I think I meant that Rickreall is 1.5 from me or at least that's he lie I'm tell'n.

I really like this neck of the woods.  The summers are terrific, Taxes are low and I can afford a house.  Really hope to travel in the winter months only.  Except the first year or so and I think we will be gone most of those years.  Do you ever come home for visits?  Family in the area?  Will you be at Rickreall?

All I can say is if you make to Portland in 1.5 hours you're flying! ;D

I had plans to be in Vancouver to help a busnut buddy out in June, but with my summer college classes it doesn't make sense even if they are all online. I even had the misses permission! ;D I wanted to visit my brother in Sisters and my folks in Salem while up there. Originally we wanted to take the bus and make a trip out of it, that is when I thought I had the summer off!

I've wanted to attend Busn' USA for sometime, it looks like it'll wait for another year as I graduate April 2011. Our plan is to hit the road at that time, I'll be close enough to 62 by then. Summers in the north and winter where it's warmer! Building websites for RV Parks is the plan.

I sure miss Oregon, it is a beautiful state. I grew up in Valsetz, find that on Google Earth and see what you come up with!

Used to be a logging town back in it's day. Boise Cascade bought the mill and the town went with it. They burned it down in '87 I believe and planted trees! They drained the mill pond where I spent a lot of time fishing when I was a kid. The Siletz river begins there, lots of good fishing and hunting! You can read about it here http://www.valsetzoregon.com/newspage.html See if you can find me in the school pictures, cute huh! My dad worked at the mill until he got smart and we moved out in 1960.
