Dave Hartley - Dr. Dave
« on: July 01, 2010, 05:36:13 AM »
It is with a heavy heart that I start this thread, as Dave was a close friend.  I just received this email. Dave attended several of the first few Bussin' rallies before moving to Tennessee. Over the years Dave owned (and converted) many buses. He will certainly be missed. Our deepest condolences and prayers to Mary and the rest of Dave's family. I am not going to post Dave's address, but if anyone wants his address to send a card, please email me jconrad@rvbus.net   Jack & Paula.

"We got a call this afternoon from Leonard Jelkren, who advised he received a call today from Mary Hartley advising that her husband, Dave Hartley, passed away today. She asked that he let the "bus people" know about this, so he called us.
Dave and Mary were members of the Southeast Bus Nuts not too long ago. Dave has been in poor health, plus they had moved from Florida to Tennessee, so they were not able to attend rallies and they dropped their membership in the Bus Nuts.
Dave remained an active poster on the Bus Conversions bulletin board on the Internet, and many people in the bus community know him from that venue."

Well, that's sad news this morning.  I never got to meet him face to face, but I was just thinking of him a few days ago about his place in TN and his offers to camp there.
Had hoped to someday stop by and meet him. He will be missed in the community.

To Mary,

Dave was a giving man in our community as I'm sure he was at home too. He gave well thought out advice to

our members in detail. His efforts and dillagence to help us out is well appreciated. I first met dave in 2006 when

my generator overheated during a trip to Florida. Dave jumped right on my thread and offered to help me out and

invited my family to his home to assist us. Well, he sure got me back up and running in no time... Since then we

e-mailed and chatted many times on the net. We even did busisness together.

Dr. Dave, Rest in peace my friend! I'm sure glad we met!

My prayers to you Mary!

Dang, sometimes life just isnt fair. I know one of his dreams was to move to Tn.  and although he did, it was a a struggle to do so.
I too was wondering how he was recently.
Dr. Dave, you will surely be missed.

Godspeed, my friend...

I met Dave a few times at several rallies and read his posts on various BB's.

He always seemed like the kind of guy who would help you out any way he could.

Sort of a "common" trait among Busnuts, but uncommon in everyday life.

Sad :-[ :-[

We've lost Driving Miss Lazy, now Dr Dave.  You young un's are slowly getting the gavel passed down.  Learn all you can, because we are losing a wealth of knowledge when the older guys pass on.

How Sad - This is the passing of a VERY VERY unique BusNuts - A true GENIUS - Sometimes strange in his own unique ways - but always willing to help others. He will be missed !!
