Will luggage doors stay shut with no locks?

Will luggage door generally stay shut with no locks?  This is for a Dina if it matters.  The air locks default to locked mode when power and air are not available.  The air doors often uses up available air after a few uses, plus the air lock selenoids kill the batteries.

I want to remove all of the air locks.  Will doing this cause me any issues with baggage doors opening on the highway?

I don't know about a Dina, but I just removed all of the air locks from a MCI 102A3. All the air lock does is keep "unauthorized" people from opening the latches.  The latches will stay latched while traveling down the road. Most of the older buses 4104, 4106, MC-7, MC-8, etc. had no locks from the factory, only a tab that a padlock could be used on.  Hope this helps, Jack

We have an MCI 9.
The air locks are:  a spring extend / air retract "Bimba" air cylinder in each door.
When we lose all air or when we want the bays locked the cylinders extend thru the handlles and locks the handles down.
When we want the doors unlocked the solenoid valve lets air to the cylinders and the handles can be raised.
This way the doors are normally locked and action by us is needed to unlock.
To save air we unlock the bays then I go around  and lift the handles half way, then lock the bays again,
That way they are open for us all day long, and we don't loose too much air.
The spring extend cylinders are known to hiss air when retracted.

I am going to remove them all.  I may purchase five of the latches used on the condenser door that have locks.
