bus licensing in what state?

I live in Montana and just paid 269.00 for permenate plates never have to buy them again. We do have income tax but no sales tax.

As every full-timer should know, there are only seven states with no income tax.  They are:
Alaska
Florida
Nevada
South Dakota
Texas
Washington
Wyoming

New Hampshire does not have a general sales tax or an income tax on an individual's reported W-2 wages.  There are taxes on an individual's interest and dividends income, inheritance, business taxes, consumer excise taxes and other taxes as listed below.  Fuel taxes are administered by the NH Dept. of Safety Road Toll office at 603-271-2311.

   As of a few years ago, when we were looking at property in North AL/South TN, TN had no state income tax and bus license plates were $24 per year and, I think, an extra $15 the first year for registation. They did have a higher sales tax rate than AL and higher property taxes.  AL license tags for ther bus were gonna be around $350-400, and AL had a state income tax, but at that time govt. pensions were exempt from state income tax and thay had a big tax break after you turned 65.  You have to compare total tax packages, not just cost of license plates.  Jack

John,, that sounds way to high on a 84, mine being ten years older,Nevada going by origanal price, and then after a certain age the base rate,
Mr Pratt's, from Reno Eagle is a78 and i think his tabs are about the same as mine, i would not be surprised if the dmv screwed  up.

For most fulltimers New Hampshire charging tax on interest and dividends would probably be a dealbreaker.  A lot of fulltimers depend on that type of income to live on.

If you are a disabled or retired Vet or over 62 retired from the private sector Texas is the only place to be,they reduced our property taxes from over 2000.00 a year to 240.00 a year.

I just bought a new car and had to buy new plates.  $388.40!!!!!! That's for a little tiny Honda.

 Florida may not have and income tax, but they will get the money from you somehow.

 Also several years ago when I relocated to Conrad Gardens FL my vehicle insurance almost doubled!

 Still FL was the best deal, for me at the time.    JIm

2. Ins.....$610.00 for full coverage with rep. value @ $172000.00.

Problem comes in if vehicle is less than 15 years old.
2000 corvette: taxes $390.00
1999 f250: taxes  $ 285.00

Lot of the Escapee's who have a Texas address that have buses or Rv's over 25 years old buy the classic plates in Texas for 10 bucks a years and I checked there is no restriction for driving like in some states,a member here has those plates on a MCI 9.

Dadgum Eric I am glad I do not have one of those flashy Iggles like you have, my taxes are 13.90.
Now that insurance deal you have sounds golden. I'd be tempted to have a wreck.

  You havnt heard any Minnesotans telling you about taxes, but they aint #5 in the country for nothing. They did finally drop cars over 7 or 10 years old (I forget which now), to just a flat $34 or some such, but you get nailed hard on newer stuff. Something like a New Porsche plates can be over $3K. I believe a new $Million something RV could be well over $10K for plates.

  Arkansas taxes your personal property, but its not that bad from ive seen. Plates themselves are like $30, and permanent on trailers under 10K pounds
