Everyone has their own perspective. One thing some of you guys may consider is the impact BCM's disposition may be having on the folks that have been working hard to keep it going. The magazine has been around for a long time. It has had it's ups and downs, but I think most folks that subscribed to it has benefited from the knowledge through the years.

If the magazine disappears today the money I will lose on the subsciption is nothing to the knowledge I will miss because it no longer exist. It has been an icon for our hobby. The folks that have worked hard to keep it going deserve better than some of the comments I have read on here.

You've got no idea of the history involved prior to the renaissance.

The issue is with management, not the contributors or the subscribers.

These people are being polite.

The present is the past? Rehashing it serves little purpose at this point.

Sticking to the present facts, we have had no magazine for many months, promises were made for a February issue which is now long overdue, and we have a deafening silence from the individual responsible.

We, the many, have paid for a product that has not been delivered.

Not to mention the subscriptions that continue to be taken in. The machinery is still active to take the unsuspecting soul's money.

Benefit of the doubt has run out.

Just like before.

happy coaching!

Outrageous! That this individual checks in regularly, yet never responds!

Guys,
You are absolutely right in what you say.  BCM magazine should have stepped up to the plate, admit the failure, and beg forgiveness; even if it was impossible to give back what was taken.  However, they haven't and probably won't.  I've lost money on subscriptions also.

However, we need to move on and allow the owner of BCM to move on.  We don't have the option to "tar and feather" the person or persons involved.  Besides, I expect, if we fully understood either the financial position or the emotional position most of us would be far more patient and respectful.  Nobody likes to be on the loosing end.  Nobody likes to loose money.  But we all have elected officials at every level who have taken much more from us, and have taken it by deceit and force.  I don't believe BCM has been deceitful with me.

I, for one, am willing to let it go.  I feel badly for the owner of BCM and wish I could do something to help.  I would like to see him take down the subscription portion of his website, but for all I know it is disabled anyway.  I'd like to see him post and just apologize, even if he can't make amends.  But, we're all wired different.  For some, the emotions that come with this, and reading the words on this post, would make a person retreat.  You might not - you might stand up and take it, or you might think you would.  But, not everyone is like that.

I'm sorry to see the magazine go away.  If the owner (Mike?  Mac?) whoever you are, would like to make the history of the magazine available - I'm willing to make that happen.  But, I need communication from you.

Thank you for all the great years of the Magazine.  Thank you for all the effort.  I'm sorry to see it go.
Good luck in whatever the future brings you.

All -

We've forgotten another group who are probably quite frustrated with BCM also:

That being those vendors who have paid for display advertising and gotten nothing.

Their wallets are considerably emptier than we subscribers (since they actually pay the majority of the costs), and the possibility of additional revenue from them now has vanished faster than you can say "credit card chargeback!"

Sad, but the printed publishing world is suffering all over, regardless of venue.

It's a rapidly changing world we live in!

Magazine or not, I wouldnt want this forum to go away. I dont know the issues with the magazine, I havnt paid any real attention. But I havnt paid for one either, so I can imagine some peoples anger.

Perhaps the owner needs some help?

I'm so disappointed in the lack of communication of the magazine owners that I am speechless!!

That is too bad - no communication.. but unfortunately, some are too ill or immature to communicate after a problem exists... In either case, some counseling might be beneficial.

I've attempted to call to offer help, but the phone won't accept a message.
I've sent an email, but no reply.

There are those of us, and I know I'm not the only one, who are able, available, and willing to set BCM back on its feet.... or find some kind of solution.

I wish I could be some kind of help, but.....
