Millenicom Data card report
« on: October 01, 2012, 06:38:22 AM »
I have had their 4G wifi hot-spot for one month now. I purchased the $70 a month plan, with 20g of data. They shipped me the Novatel Jetpack 4620L. Their 20G plan is on Verizon. I have been VERY happy with Millenicom, the MIFI, and the coverage. I have done webinars with it, and last month used less then 10g.

There is no contract. However, if you have it off for more then three months in the year, you have to reset your plan. $20 activation fee, but otherwise not bad.

Tech support seems to be good also.

Over all. Me = Happy with Millenicom.

FWIW

We've been with Millenicom for years, and depend on them for our mobile lifestyle. They are awesome.

We too switched to the Verizon 4G/3G plan using the 4620L over the summer, and have been pretty happy with it.  Verizon is turning on about 30 new LTE markets every month, so it just gets better and better!  Our biggest complaint is that silly flashing green light that makes the inside of our bus look like a disco every night :D

Here here. I am totally with you there. It is nice to know when I have 4G, vs 3G, but otherwise I don't like the light. I also depend on data when we are mobile. In the past I have had an ATT 5G datacard. Needed more/different. My 4s has tethering enabled, so I have both the major networks covered.

Come to think of it, you all were the ones that convinced me to look into them. Thanks, Cherie.

I cannot tell the difference between Millenicom  and Virgin we dropped Millenicom 2 months ago when Virgin offered us unlimited 4g  data for 55 a month but the gizmo cost us 129.00 so far it has been good I have no idea who is the carrier for Virgin

We kept the AT&T hot spot on Sonja's new I phone 5 for traveling in the west it worked places on her 4s I phone where Verizon and Milllenicom  didn't

good luck

My employer has Verizon and they purchased a Jetpack a while back.  Those who tested it said it screams in 4G areas.  It seems like it would be easy to eat up your data allowance quickly if one isn't careful.

Dave, you are a genius. Thank you for that little nugget of wisdom. So simple, yet so complex ;D :D ;D. Ahh, but I think I will miss the disco feel, now that I am used to it ;).

Clifford, I checked. Virgin uses Sprint. Millenicom has unlimited Sprint also. Problem is, their coverage. I wanted the Verizion coverage, so I was willing to limit/pay more.

Brian, the Jetpack does scream. So far 20G limit doesn't look like it will be an issue. Could be famous last words ::)

Dave, years ago when i first got together with my wife, one night we took her car to go to the movies. Coming home it was dark of course so i turned on the lights and after a few minutes realized that there was a glow coming from the dash did i could not make out. I asked her what it was and she said that it was a light that came on and bothered her for a few weeks so she put a piece of black tape over it......turns out it was the check engine light. :)  At that time i had never had a car with that feature. Needless to say the tape came off the next day and i worked on the car. ;D

We've been using Verizon's MIFI mobile hotspot aircard for years now...it was an Alltel carryover plan. Unlimited 3G. We've hung onto it because it's unlimited. When you live fulltime in a bus and have no other source for internet, your unlimited plan is worth gold. Millenicom is on our radar though...btw, I used the electrical tape to cover the light on ours last year...works like a charm. :)

Ed , Yep I got that one from Click & Clack, the mechanics on the radio and TV. I have one right now on my wifes 95 Acura Integra and the same thing as yours. Check engine light. I would love to just use the black tape. I got 441 code from it which is the charcoal canister system but can't find any problem. So I reset the light and then 2 days later it comes on again. Get out the tape.
