Is this a low air pressure sensor, or what?
« on: November 26, 2012, 03:19:40 PM »
Dear Friends,

I am sure learning a lot from everybody here! Thanks!

Under our dash is this thingamajig. It is connected to the airline that feeds the windshield wipers and the one that that actuates the external step. However, it was NOT connected electrically when we got our bus. Would this be a low air pressure sensor, and air pressure switch or???

Thanks in advance, and be blessed!

Thanks, sir! So what would have been its purpose? Do I need to replace it and hook it up to a buzzer or something?

It is for a warning lite or buzzer or both to warn of low air pressure, low air pressure sensors were simple a hot wire going in and the wire to what ever @ below 60 lbs they would close the circuit  turning the the lite or buzzer on, when above 60 lbs it would open the circuit turning the lite or buzzer off  but all of this was before engineers did their thing lol hook it up it was a safety feature
