? for MCI guys. I had one(Mci8). . ?is when in need of bigger rad and not keeping over-road ac why not use Prevost style side rad set up like I have now and did in the 89Prevost with the 8V-92. Never had over heating problem with Prevost.Could do on curb side when you take out restroom on MCI. Seems like it would be cheaper and better.  Just had though of it after seeing Prevost set up later on.   Bob

I made this change in my MC8, What I needed and did, Had to make different motor mounts in the front. Turbo fits fine on top, larger muffler and pipes, Larger air cleaner, Make sure you have the gear in the back for the power steering, I changed the tork convertor and shift settings, had to shorten the drive shaft 1". there is 1" different in the engines. Larger new radiators, larger squirrel cages. These are the things I can think of off the top of my head, this was 10 years ago. If I would do it over I would have pulled and turbo the 71.  I keep the 92 at 445 hp, I do have every thing  to make it a 500hp, but did not think I needed it and was concerned about heat. It ran very good with the 445 hp. Set the Cruz on 80 and let her run. Good luck.

 Your Mill engine needs to make certain water cooler under blower or air to air after cooler. My fire truck engine did not cnange the rear gear drive case  The compressor bolted on same spot. Power steering pump bolts to old truck alt. drive on rear of blower, plenty of room in a MC-8.
  Mine is a 8-71TA , no need to raise floor or make room for PS pump!
  If you keep the monster 24V alt. then you need to change the rear gear housing.
  I went with a seperate trans cooler and installed thermostat fan, cheeper than trans cooler on the engine.
  Clifford has the webb site for the best muffler, I have one  from them.
  My air cleaner sits on the right side and goes straight into the turbo, it has a 7inch intake, need to open a bit.
  RJ, I never got those rads n fan from the 9 in Calif. and I am sorry I did not, now maybe Flying can get them?
  Before I did the 8-71TA  I looked real hard at a 8-92 with 400 plus and the heat was ???? , But my 375hp gets warm, actually it had new heads and was low miles.
  When I stripped my bus bathroom I left the mount brackets and that holds my big air cleaner, also the right side door had a 12 inch round hole with 3/4 wire screen.

do you have a contact for the rad's in cali and also for the muffler ??

If I was doing mine again, and had a gear drive alt. (I had and still have a belt drive 50DN) I would have given serious thought to putting the power steering pump drive off the RH cam so that I didn't have to strip the back of the engine.  Would have saved me literally two months of work, that took forever to do right.  That would mean getting one or two belt drive alt's off the front of the engine, which is very achievable.  I run my inverter off the 50DN to run my roof-top AC, so I do need some serious current from the alternators, so keeping the 50DN was an easy choice for me since it was belt drive already.

    United Muffler in Iowa, has it , also Walker has a 5in  inlet an 5 outlet, but I do not know the inside, the United is extremely open. Also you will need a 5in. elbo an short piece of straigth to get the exhaust out the side. Measure the length of the muffler, I thinh 15in.

    Marc Bouget had the rads n fan.

I thought the 8-92 was designed to run at lower rpm than the 71. You might be looking at a different rear end gears or an over-drive transmission.

92 series last forever at 1400 to 1800 rpm that is their designed range they don't care for a diet of 2100 rpm all day long
