Over Temp shut down
« on: March 14, 2013, 07:58:49 PM »
My 6v92 shut down due to "over temp", due to the miter box at the blowers failing.
The box, gear, is being replaced.

The question, does the over temp shutdown, before the engine can be damaged?
I'm sure that is the design, but does it work?  At what temp, do they normally shutdown?

Thank you for the information.

Bill, if You still had full coolant You should have no problems!  Big difference between shutdown for loss of coolant and problem like You have had!  Hope all goes well for You.  John L
