CAT C9 with Allison 3000 6 spd
« on: March 21, 2013, 07:01:08 PM »
Got a chance to pick up a 2005 Cat C9 (400 HP) with Allison 3000 6 spd . 39000 miles and comes from a pusher motorhome that had a fire in the forward compartment. Unit runs well. Just wondering if those 'in the know" could tell me what a combination like this is worth?
TIA....Tim

Thanks Clifford. That was the area I was figuring, but I really have no use for it either.
Just got rid of the last of my 8V71's and parts last year and only have a rebuilt 6V92 in an MCI
looking for a new home. I saw all the 8V71's around the yard!!! Did Mike get his installed?
Going to have to do a deal for one of those timing sets next time I am down that way.
Thanks again....Tim

Doyle has his Eagle in my shop now you should see how the rockers where seating on the injector something I never saw before but it is nice to have a bus here with the engine setting upright and not side ways lol sorry Mikey and other GM people

That year of Cat (pre 2007) is good. That 400hp put out 1150lb/ft torque. Would be a good engine for a bus conversion from a 8V-71 or 6V-92TA. Would get better fuel mileage. The C9 is a wet cylinder liner engine. Good Luck, TomC
