shiny new paint on my engine
« on: April 13, 2013, 10:57:55 AM »
Time to paint the engine again . Every year at about this time I mix up some floor paint grey and get in the pit first then from the back doors and tape off all the filters, parts ,stickers that I don't want to paint. Then the fun begins!   wow! it sure looks great when finished.Or until the next time the road salt hits it. And as a side note you can sure see if there is a leak or a problem.                                                     dave

Sounds like fun, Dave. Make sure you save your spray paint receipt. That way you can document your rebuild. With all of the buses that are for sale with a "fresh" rebuild, it might give you extra resale value. Rattlecan rebuilds are very economical too.

Make sure you post before and after pics ;D. What are you going to use to clean all of that crud off of there?

I had it rebuilt in 2010 and have painted it each year since. So far no crud or leaks just the white chalky crap from salt, some light rust. Its shiny now!                   dave
