Battery - Why Not?
«

I'm trying to find a temporary solution. I only use the bus a little for now, when we're ready to go full time we might need to upgrade. Why won't a set of batteries like this work? Maybe two or four?

I don't know why you guys can't see the pictures. I can see them just fine. maybe I should re-post my question. Basically they are just Marine Batteries from Manards. They're on sale right now for $74.97

Check with your local big truck dealership or parts house. I know we have size 31 925cca batteries for $80.00 each. Two will spin that engine just fine-in moderate weather. Good Luck, TomC

Still can't see the pics, but as I understand it (which can be wrong), marine batteries are a compromise between start and deep cycle. That would mean that they can be used for both but are not necessarily the best for either. I would think that you could use them for your house batteries and, if you are merely using the house bank for light loads, they will do the job. Deep cycle would just be better.

Tikvah,
Any battery will work as long as the battery has the correct voltage for the system and can handle the amount of amps pulled from it. The difference will be how long they last and how well they work for you which comes down to make up of the battery, plate thickness, cost of battery. You get what you pay for

How far are you from using the bus more? A couple golf cart Trojans will cost more but perform much better and last lots longer if treated well.
Good luck

Just to throw in another factor. If you can find good used or blem AGM's, you will bless the day you got them-- no watering, no acid crud, no peripheral corrosion, etc.
