Topped off my 500 gallon tank at the ranchito and it was 2.99. Took 350 gallons. Kinda like filling up your bus.

Last two prices for kids shop  were $1.43gal and $1.51. They run Propane trucks & changing over to propane tractors because of cost and longevity. Not as mpg but you can sure give up some for savings::::Local service only.  FWIW

To refill the portable propane tanks costs around $3.00 a gallon locally.  There is only one place I've found locally that charges by gallon the for the smaller tanks.  Everybody else charges a flat rate for portable propane tanks.  Typical refill price (not exchange) is $17 or $18 for the folks that charge flat rate.  I have no idea what bulk propane costs.

Clifford, you must be getting counterfeit propane, like the Rolexes sold on the streets.

We get our propane down the way and it is cheaper than any place in town that we have found. I will ask my better half the name of the place. It is on deer valley road just west of cave creek road. The building is located on the right.

The prices are kind of all over the place here too (KC).
UHaul charges ~$3/gal for refills.

A popular tool rental shop here in town claims to be selling it for ~$3.40/gal (higher volume=lower rate with them).

Edit: I looked further into Uhaul's price and it seems to be only applicable to alternative fuel vehicles. Regular tank refills are $3.95/gal otherwise.
Interesting why they make that distinction. Propane is propane, isn't it? :)
...Maybe a tax credit thing?

Clifford, just curious, is that the price per gal or price per lb? (1gal=~4lbs)

Filling the small RV tanks is always higher per gal than home tanks.

My 250 gal home tank is now $1.64/gal, 5 gal portable tank is $3/gal - same company.
