I'm unaware of having to do anything special to clear codes. I think they clear when you start the generator again.

Actually, this is in the operator's manual:

Restoring Fault Code Blinking: The fault code
stops blinking after five minutes. Press Stop three
times within five seconds to restore blinking. Note
that the last fault logged will blink, even after the
condition that caused the shutdown has been corrected.

So, it appears it latches the last fault, but only displays it for 5 minutes and it can be restored to blink status if desired.

Fault codes on some cars can be cleared by disconnecting the battery for a while.  Maybe that would work here.

Sunlovers,
I sent you the service manual for your model and spec, surely if you read it, you will discover the magic of simply reseting,  however it does require reading. Others opinions are just that.
I really thought the service manual would solve all your questions, guess not !

Curious. What did the service manual say about resetting?

By the way, is that a different manual than the owner's manual?  If so, how can I get a copy of it. I have a Model: 7.5HDKAJ11451H Spec: H also.

Dave,
The book was the correct book. I have read thru it and am going to have the battery tested today. Am also adding a ground strap to the frame. Did see in the book where you can reset the fault code blinking but not clearing the codes. I will look over it again, maybe I didn't have my glasses on the first time...LOL.

Clifford,
Thanks for the number. I will put in my rolodex for future use.

thanks

Regardless of any problems you may be having, the generator should be bonded to the bus frame just for electrical safety.  This is an NEC requirement.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

I checked voltage at battery terminals and found it to be 11.2. Thought this was low after the battery had been on charge. Took to store and had it tested and found that it had a bad cell. Reinstalled new battery with ground strap to frame. Generator cranked up, let it run a few min. then started loading it. Had everything turned for 30 min. then started to turn things off slowly. Total run time one hour with no problems.
Thanks to all. Bus nuts are the best people around!!Again thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Ok. That's good. Fits what the fault codes were saying.

Did you check the new battery voltage before and after running it for that hour?  Remember, your generator does not charge up that battery when it runs. Only that little .75amp maintainer
does. And the generator will actually be using some current from the battery as it runs, though I don't know how much.

Just keep this in mind going forward.
