You can try posting a question about the previous owner and the bus on the forum and see if you get any hits.

I have been researching the whereabouts of surviving 4104's  officially for about 1 1/2 years. This is the first time I have seen your VIN come up. I got a portion of my list from other busnuts along the way.
There currently is not a registry for 4104's like the Senic Cruisers.

Maybe one day we will. Currently the best info out there is where they went when made. Options added to them at the factory.

My bus had atleast 3 Owners before I got it. I know who the 3 are, but no info can be gotten from them.
My bus is unique, it has 3 factory installed skylights in it. I have yet to find another one like it on the road today.

What Jon left out of this info is that 1889 was delivered in April of 1956, and that PSCT was HQ'd in Newark, NJ.

For a $25 donation to the Ohio Museum of Transportation, Mark will send you a photocopy of the official GMC "Final Vehicle Record," which lists all of the major parts installed on your coach as it went down the production line.

Back in that era, most properties sold off their originally-purchased fleet to second owners approximately 10-12 years after purchasing them.  Thus PSCT would have sold your coach sometime after April of 1966.

At this point, you'll have to work backwards from whomever you purchased the coach from to obtain additional ownership info.

OK My first name is Orville.
I've already done business with Luke and will continue to do so.
I've read a lot on here about tires and wheels. The bus has 10.00 20 on it now and they are shot.
This weekend I'm going to start to work on the bus.
I'm thinking about going with the next size larger tire and wheel. "If anybody's got any input, that's why I'm on here"
I hope to be on here for awhile getting different opinions and ideas

The most common wheel in the trucking industry today is the 22.5.  24.5s are also available, but the trend, with today's high torque engines, is to run the smaller size.

One thing you have to determine is what type of wheels you currently have: stud piloted or hub piloted - the 4106 could have come with either type.  Easy way to determine is to look at the lug nuts.  If the nuts look like they've got a washer attached to them, you've got hub piloted wheels.  If they look like large automobile nuts, with a taper on the wheel side, then they're stud piloted.

These are not interchangeable.

Also, if you're considering aluminum, then you'll probably have to have longer studs installed, as the wheels are thicker.

If you don't already know, GMC designed the powertrain of your coach around tires that turn 495 revs per mile.  Tires that turn MORE than 495 will lower your top speed and increase your fuel consumption.  Tires that turn LESS than 495 will have the opposite effect.  So when shopping for shoes to go on those shiny new wheels, keep the 495 number in mind.

I had read some thing here on tire size.
You are the first to mention changing the studs out when I go alum.
I've got one axle that has a leak and I was already planning on pulling the drums.
Changing the studs out should not be a problem, (so far everything I touch has been a problem)
I will check the wheels and let you know about the lugs.
The wheels are updated some what. (1974) They are not the original wheels, but are 10.00 20's
I guess the next question is steel vs alum wheels.
I do not think the weight is going to matter that much, but what do I know.

Well we are done for the day and had some supper.
Kyle came over to give me a hand. (Thank God)
Looking for a leak from the Fuel tank to the motor.
We had to pull the fresh water holding tank out to get to all the lines running from the tank to the motor.
What a job.
The main fuel line has a leak right at the wall in front of the tires, but both the main line and the return line are shot in the wheel well.
Lines at the wheel well look to be original. 57 years they have done good in my opinion.

Flat washers attached to the lug nut indicate HUB-PILOTED wheels.

FYI, in the Spare Tire section of this board, a fellow in Denver's got a complete set of six aluminum wheels, 22.5s, for $600 plus shipping.  Might be worth looking into if you want shiny.  Otherwise, for about the same price, you can get Accuride steel wheels, and not have the expense and labor of installing longer studs for the aluminum.

Not surprised fuel line failed in rear axle area, considering all the road splash that takes place back there.
