Busnuts Anonymous

Hello everyone, my name is Craig, but my friends know me as Gumpy. I'm a recovering Busnut and have been sober now for 12 hours!

<everyone> Hi Gumpy! Welcome to Busnuts Anonymous.

Last night, my 17 year old son got his first chance to play bass in a real gig downtown Minneapolis. Of course, to his dismay, his Mother and I decided the prudent thing would be to go see him. On the way there, though, we had to take a short detour around some construction, which led us past the Target Center. I turned the corner and there was one really gorgeous MCI conversion sitting on the street. I nearly crashed into several cars who were trying to cut me off. I was jolted back to reality by the screams of my passengers, and so missed most of the sight.  >:(

Then we rounded the arena and on the opposite side, sitting along the street we had to take, were 7 or 8 Prevost conversion coaches. Talk about a traffic jam behind me. Seems everyone was in a big hurry and nobody wanted to drive 5 miles per hour. Indignant fools!

We nearly missed my son's performance!

Next time, I'm taking the MC9 and parking with the big boys!  :D

Welcome Gumpy!

<looking around the room>

I think most of us have experienced similar experiences, of which most non-BusNuts just wouldn't understand.

Gumpy, Craig ... if I can share one suggestion.  Avoid concert venues where concert tour buses can often be found.  If you find the need to venture close to an area where tour buses can might be found, have someone else drive and wear a blindfold ... this might be of help.

And always remember that you've got the group to fall back on when you need us.

I am not addicted!  I can stop anytime I want to.   :P

It's just that ...  well ... umm ... (man that is one sweet sounding 6V92TA going by outside, gotta go have a look).  Excuse me, I'll be back in a minute.

......

Ok, where was I?  Oh yeah, I could stop being a bus nut anytime, but why would I want to? ;) ;D

Addicted” No way Doc, I’m just in love yeh” that’s it I’m in love. Ten step program? Yes I did that, and after I took those ten steps I was standing in front of this beautiful VanHool, it was metallic blue and she glistened in the sun shine. Oh” and the smell of her perfume shelldiesel #3 just sends me off to places I never been before with her. Oh she was hot” and I’ll never forget her. I ran my hands down her sides and she purred at my touch and as I said good bye I gave her a little pat her on the rear end.

You know what” doc, your right I am addicted and I don’t want to get help. I got to see her, and smell her. Be seen with her out in public because she is one gorgeous lady. Am I sick? You better believe it and I don’t need a cure.

Hey Nick,

Sad to say I do not own it but it is my favorite bus picture. I don't know if it is a Star Jet or not but who ever painted it took a lot of pride in their work if you ask me. I was just messing around and having fun with the guys up above.

I enjoy all the guys here on this site but I am a busnut with out a bus at the present time. Due to a head-on crash I am at present unable to purchase a bus so I am planning and learning as much as I can now. I plan to use it for family camping and as a base to preach the gospel back home in WVa during the summer. But right now that is in the future.
