Help-Stranded in Grand Marais
« on: September 13, 2014, 07:10:45 AM »
Hi All, my wife and I pulled into Grand Marais MN last night, shut the bus off and when I try and start it again.....nothing. I tried starting the but about 30 seconds after shutting it off.  I decided to wait until the morning as it was late.  Same thing this morning.  Battery's are fine.  I can go in the back to remote start and hear it click when I try to start it but that's it.  Starter?  Anyone have a suggestion on where to start?  Anything is appreciated.  Thanks

Brett

Try to tap the starter with a hammer also check terminal connections at the starter to see if they are tight. Good luck. Raymond

If it doesn`t fit properly the first time, Get a bigger hammer

Check the start solenoid. I don't know anything about MCIs but if you have a rear electrical panel, that's where it'll be.

Could also be a ground. Check your battery cables. If you have something to clean them with, clean them and reinstall them tight.

Automatics have a neutral safety switch on the passenger side of the transmission. If it is out of adjustment, it won't start.

Hope this helps.

Bam!  Thank you.  Took it out of neutral and then put it back in neutral.  Good to go.  Thanks

It's great when we are able to assist!

I looked you up on the map. Not a good place to breakdown.

Don't you just love that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when you push the start button and nothing happens?

I really appreciate this forum.  Here are a couple pictures from this last weekend trip to Grand Marais MN.  If anyone has a chance to go to the North Shore of MN and hasn't, it's a special place.  Thanks again.
