And away we go.
« on: May 10, 2015, 05:22:01 AM »
Our 1st major Vacation in the "Gus" the bus starts in the morning. Leaving Tifton, GA. heading up to Scranton PA. to kidnap our 4 year old grand daughter for the summer. Then zig zaging across country. Some of the stops planned are the Grand Canyon, Tombstone, Rushmore, Redwood Forest, Some RT. 66 ect.. Plan on doing a lot of fishing along the way. Can't wait to get rolling! What's funny is I, spend my life on the road as an owner/operator long haul trucker and have seen it all at 70 mph thru a windshield always in a hurry but, this trip will be at a much slower pace. If you see us on the road be sure to say hello ;D

Sounds like a great trip. Neat section of original Rt 66 about 50-60 miles west of Amarillo, TX. Passes thru Adrian, TX, which was the midpoint on Rt 66. Not much there now, but stop, have a coffee & some pie at the little cafe, and take a pic of your bus and the markers declaring it to be at the mudpoint. We stop for pie every time we go through.

I'm guessing Texas has lots of mudpoints these days.

But seriously, sounds like a grand adventure. Our grandchildren are getting to the point when we will be able to take them along in "Pap's big bus." I doubt that any of their parents will give us custody for that long, but if they do, look out.

Be sure not to have any fun.
