I'm reading this thread with interest as I've never once in 7 years of fulltiming, "winterized" my coach. When it's your home, it's always climate controlled. Cool stuff here. Someday if I'm ever off the road I'll need to know this stuff. I like the whole "pump" rv antifreeze through your system concept ...then the antifreeze gets literally everywhere the water is. Makes sense to me.

First and fore most, shifting.

Jim -

By the above comment, sounds to me like you've still got the OEM 4-spd manual gearbox.

If so, be aware that a non-synchro bus transmission has brought many an experienced stick-shift driver to their knees in frustration, so you're not alone if that's your situation.

There's an missive over on the other big bus BBS (www.busnut.com/forum/index.php) under the "Articles" tab about shifting that you might find helpful.  If you can't access it, send me a PM (private message) with your email address and I'll send you a .pdf copy of the article.

Thanks for updating your profile info, it came thru loud and clear.

If you plan on winterizing every year, this kit can save a lot of RV antifreeze doing it. This way you don't fill water heater with the fluid. Also is pictured a hose adapter with an air Chuck for blowing out lines if that is a preferred alternative.

For the love of God, do not fill the water heater with anti-freeze.

Drain and bypass.

Complete waste of money, and how the blazes are you going to get it out of there in the spring?

Every drop of that horrid pink crap has to be flushed out, or you get to experience it all summer...

Spending some time adding the valves and modifying the lines to get gravity to do most/all of the job.

Full timers/Snowbirds/Southern coach owners:

If that deep freeze comes south, or, if catastrophic failure forces abandoning the coach...

What's your PLAN to save the plumbing, as the temp goes away?

Posting a squeaky plea on Social media or the Boards with numbing fingers?

Busnuts and Boyscouts: be prepared?

happy coaching!
