spray foam insulation opinions please
« on: April 26, 2006, 10:49:47 AM »
Hi all,I am almost ready to insulate my bus it is a 79 h8h-649 with a 10 inch roof raise and I am in Va Beach Va.my problem is I can not find but 1 person here who will do the foam but he wants 2700.00 to do it which I think is way too much,I can get the 600 bd feet spray foam kits at 800.00 with shipping,2 kits 1600.00 and I can do 1 1/2'',the guy who quoted the 2700.00 (min price for him to do it) says that the kits will be a waste of time and money, any suggestions or replies welcome and very much appericated thanks Mike

I have heard a lot of estimates in the $3,000 area.

I had my 85 Eagle foamed 5 years ago for $1200.00  and it was an excellent job I did not have to trim but in a few places.  The guy really was good.

I got 4104  done by Big Orange Foam in Knoxville TN. for under a thousand dollars including triming the foam and hauling away the scrap. They did a great job.

Talk to Bruce Knee of Diamond State Coach Conversions.
He's 2 hours north of Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
He can dial you in for under $1,000.oo most likely.
His guy sprays so that you have to do very little trimming...unless you have the time to trim (not!!)

If I could have found someone to do it for around $1000 I would have had mine sprayed, I ended up with $550 in 2" all over.

I sprayed my own, 2 kits from McMaster, was super easy and works super well.  Nice thing about doing it yourself is you can do some now, some later.
