I have a Martin 10KW since 1999.
Works GREAT.
The only problems were a hour meter, and a voltage regulator.
Both problems were my fault by not airing out / cooling out the generator compartment correctly.
I didn't have forced air passing thru the compartment to clear the gen head heat.
I just cut some access holes to rad area so air first is pulled thru the compartment before getting  to the rad.
That's it.

The Onan name is gone now they are Cummins Power, probably the reason Onan has 75% of the RV market is because of their service network it is well established across the USA

I have a 12.5 Kw Martin that I bought in 1996, still okay. Martin builds units for the military, and they are very solid. The catch is they are in Ohio for you guys out west, and those nice 2 cycles in Idaho are too far away for us in the East. A rebuilt used model is probably the most cost effective generator, and you dodge the Tier 4 junk.

I noticed they have four different levels of pricing giving everybody a price point. It might be nice to listen to 2 cycle music night and day.  ;)

Those generator sets aren't that good a vibrator. They run at 1200 rpm.

They vibrate even at a idle AT&T has a few of those I pickup parts that have vibrated off   and reinstall parts like the mufflers and you cannot keep a rain cap on 1.The 2-71 is the happiest at 12kw 65 hp you bump one up to 20kw they don't like it much, they have a large vibration damper same size a 6-71  they are not real smooth

I have a Powertech 10kw Marathon alternator and Kubota 4 cylinder engine. Bought in 1993, has about 1,200hrs on it and have done nothing to it (except change the coolant once and oil at 150 hours). Good Luck, TomC

Level of emission control for off road engines, dumbest thing CARB and the EPA ever came up with for those tiny engines.I looked at one in a new RV no way would I go there

The kubotas that Wrico are selling now are tier 4
Some are called, some are sent, some just got up and went.

I didn't see any Tier 4 final engines on his website only interim Tier 3 and 4 he can sell those for a little longer, someone pays a fee who and how much I don't know. Same deal International got away with for a few years they just paid $1500.00 on each engine and kept selling in those in Monoco RV's and I/H trucks, now you see nothing but Cummins in the Internationals,There is a break in the HP rating for Tier 4 final for another year but I forgot where the break is I am thinking 22 hp. The one I saw in a Prevost had all the crap including the DEF tank mounted on it and was a Kubota turbo charged

I had Wrico build a custom 3 cylinder Kubota with 12kw power head to keep the generator (without radiator) at only 36" long. I bought it several years ago so it is still mechanically injected. Now all new engines are electronically controlled (no thank you). Good Luck, TomC
