DD 6V92 coolant
« on: October 12, 2019, 11:11:54 AM »
Getting my first GM 4106 on Monday, getting ready to "Join the club".

Just curious about the oil req for the dd6v92 does Delo 40w cf-2 sound correct?,

What's used for the V730 trans fluid?

Coolant,  I've been reading a ton of threads regarding coolant, being a wet liner engine, what's the proper coolant?.

The current owner sounds fairly knowledgeable about the bus and maintenance req, just want to hear it from an experienced mechanic.

     Thanks for reading

40 W Delo or Shell Rotella is good. Most run Dexron III in V730 or Transend by DD. Use Power Cool for wet liners in the 6V92 to prevent cavitation. Made for DD.

Oil. 40wt CF-2, antifreeze Walmart 100% 50/50 mix with distilled water, V730 a 5 gallon bucket of Universal transmission/tractor oil, and the filters of your choice.
