Window Replacement
« on: February 26, 2007, 04:32:29 AM »
We Have been in contact with Jeff at Motion Windows and have a good quote for replacing all windows in our MCI-8. Just about all of the new windows will have to be re-framed. What I need to know is what is the best way to do this. What is the best way to frame them? Welding etc. Also some areas will need new skin. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

On some of the openings on my bus I welded in tubing to support the new siding. In other areas I used pressure treated 2X6 to frame in window. This gave me an easy fastening area for window treatments ect. HTH

I had the same issue.  I ended up welding in new supports to frame in the new windows.  I then put a new skin over the entire side and cut new holes for the windows.

My skinning job doesn't look the best, but I don't have a bus with classic lines plus it will look 100% better with a paint job.
