mc9 cooling system
« on: June 21, 2007, 08:53:41 AM »
Are there any alternatives to the dual squirrel cage radiator system? Mine throws alot of oil and I thought it may be just as well to change the system. Thanks Tom

Not unless you brew something up yourself.

You'd probably be best to pull the assembly and rebuild the gearbox. New seals, etc.

Tom -

MCI built over 9,000 MC-9s with that cooling system.

It may be marginal on hot days climbing Rocky Top out west, but it works.

Clean it up and fix it up RIGHT and you won't have to worry about it.

If you don't already have one, get a shop manual and parts book, well worth the $$$.
