Phil,

yep Guitar no time for bass or learning banjo and mandolin they just sit there collecting dust.
Maybe when I am retired and God willing in good health.

From what I understand bluegrass is a culture of family and friends sharing a music tradition
in an open acceptance no matter where you are at in proficiency.

So to me the bus sharing we do here goes hand and hand with music sharing. It seems like when two
Bnuts get together two common themes are buses and music at some level. Oh and I forgot and FOOD

By the looks you would need your bus as a portable studio with at least a 10KW silent generator
The porch I think I would leave to the skoolie crowd. Though a portable rocking chair sounds
 comfy.

Well as long as we have highjacked this...

Skip,
Have you heard John Dunnigan play? He lives north of you but plays a lot of fairs during the summer.

Lee,

Well not very well but I tried to keep on topic "need your bus as a portable studio "

Listened to his mp3 ticklers. He's very good.

   Thanks

I love tangents on threads. You learn some of the most interesting stuff in a tangent. The thread usually finds it's way back to the topic, like...

I should be using my bus to store all of the stuff that I have bought for it instead of it taking up my garage and my wife's dining room! She finally got her dining room back yesterday and she is SOOOO happy about that!

Songman,

I'm surprised you haven't suggested to your wife for her to get a bus to house
her collectables. Kind of a museum on wheels concept.

Oh, I'm feeling another tangent coming on! haha

It's funny that you should say that, Skip. That very thing was talked about a few years ago for Merle. They actually built a Merle Haggard rolling museum that was going to tour the country but for some reason he pulled the plug before it ever hit the road.

My wife would probably love that idea. She was bummed out this year when she had signed up to set up a display at the Kern County Fair and ended up not doing it for a couple of reasons. First, there was not enough security in the building and she has some pretty expensive stuff. Second, she would have been surrounded by other collections like toothpicks, matchbooks, etc and it just wouldn't have fit in... And also, I called the insurance company and the stuff wouldn't have been covered if she displayed it there...  But a traveling bus museum... She might just like that!

Here is just a part of one of the shelves of her many cabinets of stuff...

Songman,
I would love to see a bus conversion done in a proper victorian motif. (not for me but something
    great to see)

Ron,
Got to respect a man who will claim his territory and fight for it. (even if it becomes the dog house)  ;)

Sorry DAX I got to stop doing this after all you are less than a bus tank away!

I don't actually own a bus yet but I voted anyway for what I would use it for.
My "Other" vote was because " ya never know when you might have to get out of town in a hurry!" ;)

Good question!

We live in ours about 8 months out of the year. We are a forestry company as well and travel in the Lake states and the whole of the southeast. We plant around fourteen million trees a season.
" wherever you grow pine trees. :D"
We have four kids in a quad bunk in the middle. Bath seperates master bedroom from kids. We like the close quarters and have a good time seeing the country while we're working.

We lived in a couple of S&S trailers and decided that wasn't for us.
