Reskinning entire MCI-5a in Mexico?
« on: May 25, 2006, 12:21:12 PM »
Does anyone know of a company that could reskin and paint my dented and faded converted 1967 MCI 5a? I got quotes between $15K and $20K in the US, and that nearly 100% of the value of the coach, so seems too much to put into it. I don't need it to look original, so I don't need custom made replacement skin from International Bus & Parts. Even regular steel glued for the whole skin, painted like a modern bus, would be OK. I live in San Francisco, CA, so corrosion is not a problem. I read here maybe a year ago about people getting their busses painted in Mexico, so I thought perhaps some of those firms also do reskinning and painting.

I am also open to offers from private individuals who have done reskinning before and would like to take on this project. You can take months with the bus, as it's in storage and unused right now. I'm so busy at work I won't miss it while it's being worked on.

Thanks!
