power steering line

I made a modification in my power steering fluid line last year. I replaced some rubber hose (low pressure) with 3' of type K 3/4" copper line strapped to the the bus frame. This worked very well for the placement of the line in this situation. That is why I chose it over more rubber hose. I am now wondering if copper reacts with ATF in the power steering system. Will this metal cause problems in the future?

David,
The PO of my Thomas changed out the power steering pressure hose from front to rear, to a steel pipe about 3/4 inch in diameter. No leaks so far.
Sorry, no help on the copper question.

I don't think so. The RTS transit bus uses copper pipe too.
Hope this may help.

I would be concerned about the pressure rating of the copper pipe. You know what kind of pipe you used and the pressure on your power steering so you can see how much safety margin you have in the charts in this link.

Pressure is no problem. It is the return line, very low pressure. I'm just concerned if there is any reaction of ATF with copper.
