MC 9 wiring question
« on: December 06, 2007, 12:55:30 PM »
Can anyone with a MC 9 book or just the knowledge tell me which wire in the bundle on the pass side luggage rack goes to the marker light ? The wires all appear to be numbered on the wire and with a metel tag. Also, are the markers 12 or 24 volt ?

TavellingFools.

I would suggest that you make it a priority to get all the appropriate manuals for your coach.

These should be the second thing you write a check for after buying a bus.

what year is your coach?
Reason I ask is that the early nines used some of the 8's wiring harnesses. I have found differences in the 1989 MC9 manual and the 1979 MC8 manual.

Bill,

Are those drawings in electronic form?

Can you send them to me, also, please?  I'd like to have them in electronic form, and can't scan the full page drawings I have.
If you'll send them to me, I'll post them on my website for others to access.

Got them. Will have to study them closely. That's not a drawing I've seen before. Not one in the manuals I have.

thanks

Warning Warning Warning,,,,,, :o

I'm finding that not all drawing and buses match.  It is driving me crazy.    ???     The print I sent you guys has a date of 1989. It came from MCI's Tech support.  They said it would be close.  LOL    My bus is an 1983.  Finding big difference.

I could really use an schematic for an 1983....

Bill,

There's a whole chapter in the manual on electrical, and probably 30-40 drawings for everything from lighting to radios.

It's imperrative that you buy a set of the manuals. In the interim, what are you working on, and which schematics do you need.
I'll try to scan them and send them to you.  Unfortunately, some are fold out page width, and I can't get them scanned in one pass,
so you'll have to piece them together, but at least you'll have something.

I'm working on the ATEC system.  MCI-9 1983.

I have a set of manual, but they seem to be lacking.

Thanks, Bill

What's ATEC?  Not one I'm familiar with. Is this the electronic controls for the automatic transmission on a DDEC engine?

It's the Electronic Control for the tranny, doesn't have to be a DDEC.

That's what mine is.

ATEC transmissions were used with Non-DDEC engines too.
We just cannot get the correct schematic diagram for his bus at this time.
Trying to work without it, using other bus applications as examples, Allison ATEC info, and with Bill confirming or denying connection points. Takes longer, but seems to be making some progress.  8)
