12v headlights of a 24v system
« on: January 05, 2008, 11:50:54 AM »
Any you guys know where they pull 12v off my 24v system for my headlights??
I need 12v for my radio, etc. but until I can afford a 12v equalizer, this could keep me happy.  ;D I want to run several 12 things so this would just be temporary. (mostly just to have tunes while working on it this winter.  :))
   Thanx,

Chaz -

IIRC, GM used a dropping resistor for the headlamps.  Time to dig out your coach's wiring schematic to track it down, most likely in the electrical rat's nest next to the driver.

Wouldn't an extension cord from the house/garage to plug in the boombox be a lot easier??  LOL

I bought a Samlex 24 to 12 volt converter off ebay for less than $20 shipped.  I think it is 15 amp on the 12 volt side.

I am using this to run my GPS speedometer and backup camera system.  I couldn't find a switched 12 volt bus in the front panel of my bus, but I did find switched 24 volt so I add this converter.
