Calendar/Bus Rally Llistings
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:46:55 AM »
I added another Rally to the calendar as well as including contact information. Only the event name is listed on the calendar due to the small size of the box for each date and occasionally several things listed on that day (including birthdays, holidays, and multiple events).  If you click on the event name, it will take you to a BB thread that is dedicated to that event and that day. This is where I put the event location and contact information. The event can also be discussed here. I hope to add more information on this BB thread such as event schedules, fees,  etc as the information becomes available.
If anyone has the information for Dave & Dennis Gregory and Dick Wright's Busn' USA, please add it to the calendar.  I do not have the information available at my computer and this is a major Bus Rally.  To post an event, simply click on the date, fill out the pop up window and click on post (very similar to posting a message on the BB).
Pleasae let me know if you have any suggestions or comments.  Thanks, Jack

I just added the Oregon rally to the calender. You can find it here:

I would like to encourage everyone that is listing information on the calender board to please include the Day, Date and  Month in your posting. It is nearly impossible to go back to the actual calender itself and find the event.

Richard,
I guess we are searching for events from opposite ends. I start my event search by looking at the actual calendar. If I see an event I am interested in, I click on the event for the information. When I am on the Calendar BB, clicking on the Calendar Link directly above the MAK Bus Sales banner takes me back to the calendar.  I will try to remember to add the date to the event title. It seemed redundant to add the dates to the event title that is posted on that date on the calendar.  Jack

Yes, I suspect you are correct. Unfortunately my memory is not what it used to be and I have some trouble remembering the dates and once I get to the board I am totally lost. LOL

My personal opinion is that the actual calendar is only good for determining that an event is happening during the mnonth oif October, for example. Due to the limited amount of information that can be posted on the actual calendar (20 characters) it is just a help to find all the information about the event. A heads up that something is coming up in a particular month.

For example, the Bus'N USA rally in July or Dallas's October event is listed on the calendar to let people know there is an event, then by clicking on the date, they can go to the board to get all the pertinent information.

Nick, How about something like this? Maybe with dates and location added? It would be easy to add to with Modify.

Nick,
That would be Ok. I only intended for the thread to remain a Sticky long enough for everyone to read it and let them know how the Calendar works.  Jack
