Air Conditiioning repair/modificatiion in Texas

I have an MCI conversion by Custom Coach of Columbus Ohio. It has the "Road Air" (MCI air conditioning driven by the engine) plus two split-air systems run from the generator. They all need servicing--iin point of fact they need to be converted from the "old Freon" (R12?) to 134A. I remember that a gentleman here iin Texas wrote an article detailing how his company had converted several buses. Unfortunately, now that I need to find him, I can't.

 Can you put me on the right path to find him or someone nearby that can do the job right?

While I am seriously tempted to take you up on your offer, (and I'm not saying no), it is about a 4000 mile round trip. I'll have to think about that for quite a while! Doesn't that work out to about 500 gallons of diesel fuel? Plus the way I drive, it would be 10 days there and ten back at 200 miles a day. Do you suppose you could just open a shop here in Kerrville? I'd give you all my business!

Bob Sterling's bus is real nice [86 Marathon Prevost] and he is in route to new Hampshire. So I was on his way.

We had to recharge his road air, and two of his cruiseair's. Now he is hanging out for a couple of day's. I think he is going to

hit Atlantic City while he has the chance. $$$$

Hey Nick ... I have the same type of bus with the same need for a/c recharge.  Two Cruisairs are putting out hot air and the third is probably needing a boost charge.  Good to find someone willing to handle the Cruisairs.  How do you handle the R-12 units?  Change something inside the a/c units then add the currently accepted refrigerant?

On his way to Bike Week, is he?  There have been articles in the paper about that.  Long time hotel operators are saying that this is the first bike week ever that they may have vacancy signs hanging.  Most are saying that they will drop thier rates and drop the 4 day minimum stay.

I just got back from Atlanta today for a 134 upgrade on my Custom Coach MC-8.

Rear Crusair is working fine however I am getting 110 to the front ones box but not past the switch.

Was planning on calling Cruisair or the dealership in Annaplois on Monday

By switch, do you mean on/off switch or thormostat?

Could be either the switch you are referring to or the SMX board or low preasure switch if it's low on freon.

the 110 into the box on the bay end of the system goes to but not through the "switch"

Welch industries didn't want to fool with it as they had no experience with a switch of that type.

Fan in the coach comes on, but the compressor and fan in the bay do not.

What your telling me sounds like the thormostat! The thormostat gives power to the condencer unit but, the t-stat has to first be powered by the

main selector switch. You can seek this out by using a volt meter. That's if your up to tackeling it!
