Cliff, you're kids couldn't be in safer hands than Jackie's and mine.  With a bit of advanced notice they'd be in a weapons free area.

Hey, its only one on one here, sometimes I might have a chance.

But when you and Charlie get together!! :o  Watch out!!

My kids are pretty firearm savy for there ages.   If they want to shoot something I show them how.

Stops all that "lets sneak it out of the gun cabinet stuff"

My 5 year old wanted to shoot my shotgun after watching us shoot some skeet one day, took it out and I held it, let

him pull the trigger.  He told me we could do it again when he was older. ;D

Cliff, if you want to teach your son how to shoot traps...I've got a great .410 pump that'll make a master out of him..if he's got the patience.  It's yours for the borrowing...just send it home clean!

That's how I taught my son...now he's a killer with a 16 Ga.

    I have 2 revolvers in our headboard. The 357 has 38 cal. rat shot, the 45 has the first round a black powder blank (from my Old Florida Fronter Re-enactment group days). A lot of smoke and fire. If they don't stop, the next round is a steel jacketed hollowpoint. I also have the barely legal sawed off 12 gauge from the re-enactment group with a black powder blank in it. If fired at close range, the wadding and burning black powder would probably make them think they had been shot with a real shell. We had several people in our group receive minor burns, bruises and lacerations through heavy jeans, when someone got careless and fired at close range (usually a new member).  Florida passed the "kill bill" last year. You have the right to shoot anyone breaking into your house or your occupied car.  Jack

I think we are close to 250 years old now and another big birthday fast approaching on July 4th... But we still seem to carry forth the days of the Wild West....

Actually, in the 1880s, Arcadia was as much of a cowtown as Dodge City, Tomestone, etc. Florida was open range and cattle was about the only way to make a living in Florida. The group that I belonged to did  re-enactments at the Arcadia All Florida Championship Rodeo.  Our script was always based on newspaper accounts of events that had occurred and been reported in the newspapers.  They will be preforming on July 4th, I retired from the group a few years ago when we sold our last horse.  Jack

It all depends on where you are!

Take for example Gun Control

On the coasts of Florida it means: "Stopping the proliferation of Guns"

Now in the interior area it means: "Being able to hit what your shooting at" ;D
