Condencer Fan- Bus Air
« on: June 09, 2006, 08:46:56 AM »
Hi Guy's,

I'm looking for a condencer fan motor for my 102c3 1989' it has the square 24v motor that mounts to the floor of the condencer compartment

and blows down through the floor. I'm looking for a take out before I commit to a reman for about $800. Nimco's out of stock!

Thanks-

Nick,
I have one complete with the mounting bracket at my place. It belongs to
Greg Peterson, but I will see how much he wants for it.  I do not know if it would qualify for UPS.  Jack

Jack,

Ok, a little on the high side but, is there any way you can test it before we go through the shipping process?

Nick,
Unless you need it immediately, I'd look for a better price.  I bought an evaporator/ heater blower for my MC-8 for about $.  The fellow I got it from had no plans to use it.  He also had the condenser fan, but I didn't want to pay shipping on it since I didn't need it.  Look for somebody who's scrapping a bus.  How different is this fan from the one in a MC-8 or -9?  If one of those would work, I've seen several -8's being parted out on the BNO board.  Email me if you need contact info from a guy I got parts from.  You might also try Luke.  Good luck!

David

David,

The difference is, 1, the shape of the motor. 2, the mounting bracket.

On the 8's and 9's the bracket mounts to the side wall, and the 102's mount to the floor!

Thanks for the advice.

Nick,
Call JD at C & J bus Repair in MN. 800-228-7349. I've bought reconditioned motors from him pretty reasonable! Might be able to check their website for a price before calling them. cjbusrepair.com they are good people JD will help you save $ if he can and will be honest an tell you so if he can't! They do all the rebuilding of the the reconditioned motors themselves, and he has some good outside sources to ge "new" ones cheaper than going thru MCI! FWIT! Knuckle!

Nick-

Nick,
Mine mounts to the floor.  It's a fairly large fan; it reminds me of a gable fan that mounts in an attic.  It has a large square motor.  The mount is like a frame that mounts to the floor and the blades are covered by heavy expanded steel mesh.  I'm not sure, but maybe some of the MC-8's and -9's were different.

C&J Bus Repair has the 102 condenser fans for $$$$ one speed and $$$$ two speed.  Core charge is $$$$.

They have these listed on their web site.
