I am just having a horrible day. Broke the inverter in the bus, my car has a coolant leak, and I need a new starter for the Kubota diesel in my lawn mower. $3,000 to fix/replace everything.
Do the Magnum Energy 4024 inverters have loud fans? I broke my inverter and I want to put the new one in a location that would bother people sleeping if the fans are loud. Any reason to get the hybrid inverter if never plug in except at home? I run the generator when necessary when away from home. Never on a pole. No idea if I can even get a Magnum 4024 inverter, or if they are out of stock like everything else in this world.

We have a 4024 Hybrid that has load support type M.
There are some newer ones that have 6 internal spots to put in both sides of L1 and L2 now that you can run the whole electric system through the new magnums. Fans are really quite and won't bother anyone. If installed in a cool place they hardly come on. get the remote ARC50 and the battery monster and you will be good to go.
Victrons are nice too so check them out also. :^

I looked at the Sensata (Magnum) website and I am not seeing a 24 volt model that will pass through both legs of power. They have the MSH-RV that will do that, but 12 volt only. A 50 amp dual leg transfer switch would be a great feature to have.

ARC50 = Advaned Remote Control. The RC50 and ARC50 look similar but the ARC50 has many setup features and configuration options that the RC50 does not.

I guess I don't need it all my setting are in the SliverLeaf according to the manual,I found the manual for the ARC50 in a box but no ARC50 anywhere

I miss spoke, I don't have the ARC50, I have the RC50. At any rate they're both remotes that literally bring the inverter and most/all it's functions & parameters to the user in a convenient place of choice. Ours is just over head in a console at the driver's seat.

I have a MSH4024M mounted in a bay, and an ARC50. I'm not a "power user" but I've never noticed hearing it. When it gets hot, some fans come on I think, but they're still pretty quiet. Most of the time it is completely silent.

The Magnum (now Sensata) cooling fan is a variable controlled fan and turns faster as load increases. The only way to tell how "loud" the fan is - is to put a heavy load on the inverter/charger. I say inverter/charger because one is low VDC to AC the other is AC to DC. I've heard our Magnum fan running really hard but not necessarily loud when the Charger portion of the inverter kicks in to charge a depleated battery bank. Our MS2812 Inverter/charger has a capable 125A @ 12VDC charge capacity - & when you near that kind of charge rate that fan is really singing. A Magnum tech told me that the aluminum fins on the cabinmate can get near 200F when loaded! That's another nice feature of the RC remote is that the user can dial the percentage of charge so the amp draw won't trip breakers on low amp circuits. Cliff's mention of the Silverleaf being tied into the Magnum Charger parameters is interesting. Although I shy away from that kind of computer control - ya know dinosaur...

It has telephone plug ends just like my Traces had you just have a touch screen in 2 locations

The transfer relay on my Prosine 3000 had a bunch of issues back in 2009. A friend of mine took the relay apart and cleaned up the contacts. The relay has been fine since then. Scott sold me a broken Prosine 3000 really cheap. I wanted the remote panel plus any usable parts like the transfer relay. The relay is impossible to buy although one might be able to jerry rig a different relay.
Edit: I never really answered the question. No, I did not replace my inverter previously. I was probably looking for a replacement for the Prosine until my friend fixed it.

Well, I managed to fix the other issue with my inverter so I didn’t order a new one.
I should have ordered a new one when I had the issue a week or two ago. I unplugged from shore power today with no load on the inverter (breaker off in the panel). The inverter immediately threw an error for transfer relay welded contact. I have a parts inverter, but after opening that up I realized it is basically open heart surgery to swap the relay.
I talked with my father and some friends and decided it is time to order a new inverter. I could spend all afternoon swapping parts and still have no working inverter.
I hate these last minute issues.

I pulled my trailer out of storage to use it and my Prosine 2000 inverter doesn't work. I didn't use the trailer at all last summer. I'm making due without an inverter right now.

I ended up ordering a Victron Energy Multiplus inverter from Amazon. The Magnum MSH4024M would have taken longer to ship and it can't be used with the terminals on the bottom without a conduit box. there are some pretty cool new RV inverters from Xantrex and Magnum, but only 12 volt.
My backup plan if the Victron is late is to try to fix my Prosine by swapping in the relay from the broken Prosine 3000 I have. I have no idea what actually broke in the broken Prosine I have.

I think the Victron was a solid choice.
No more Xantrex for me. The Internet is littered with stories of failed Xantrex inverters and zero help from the manufacturer. I might try to fix mine next summer.

That s is incorrect. I don't have a Conduit box on mine and it works fine.

Correction: Magnum says a conduit box is required if the terminals are on the bottom. I'm sure it will work without one. It is a moot point because it would be uncertain if I could get a Magnum inverter before the weekend so I ordered the Victron instead.
The Magnum inverters seem to be designed to be installed with the terminals on the bottom so I don't understand why Magnum states a conduit box is required for that configuration.

I think it has everything to do with warranty requirements. Magnum has a three year warranty! - if configured to their recommendation otherwise - zip...
