4104, 4106 and later GM PD owners. . .

I no longer have my shop manuals or lube charts, so I need your help.

From the engine compartment looking forward, please share which side of the coach's centerline the rear axle's differential pumpkin is offset.  Is it offset to the driver's side, or is it offset to the curb side?

I know that there's a difference between the 4104 and the later models, I just don't remember which is which. One is offset to the driver's side (4104?) the 4106 and later to the opposite side (curb?)  Please help clear up my foggy brain cells!

For the experts.  Will a 06 pumpkin go into a 04 axle to correct the angle.

Just remember working with Jarra Smith the former owner and builder of HUGGY.

He put several 6v92  v730's in04's.

to old and stiff to crawl under huggy to check what he did to correct the angle problem.

Saw a o4 with a 8v71 and v730 and he said he was running th 04 rear end.

That has been a few years ago.

Dan our old friend out of Winston Salem also did a bunch and he said Jarra and he did it a lot of different ways.

If the diesel gets better I am still trying to get down to Gene's for a good check up.
Sure do miss David. He is a lot closer.

Many years ago I talked to a couple of guys in CA that had put 8V71/V730 in 4104's and they had to use the 4106 rear end. The original 4104 rear end angle caused vibrations.
