Cruisairs are good unit, but are split units that require a freon line between the condensing unit and the interior evaporator. There are other basement type units you could consider. Both Dometic and Coleman make basement air where the unit is all in one and all you have to do is duct the cool and return air to them. This eliminates the freon lines, and if you need to replace the unit, can do it your self. Dometic makes A/C for truckers that is 14,000btu with 2,200 watt (just under 20 amps) heating. The unit can be mounted at the base of a cabinet (rather than taking up basement space) and just duct up to the top of the cabinet for the outlet. Then you just cut two holes in the floor for the in and out of the condenser air-no cutting a big hole in the side of the bus for condenser access. These units are about $1,800 each-much less then a Cruisair. The other is the traditional basement unit made both by RV Comfort (Coleman's parent company) and Dometic. Where you have a large rectangular hole in the side duplicating the area of the condenser, then also a hole in the bottom of the bus for the condenser hot air to escape. I have seen the single 14,000btu units as cheap as $895.00 with the two compressor units around $1695.00.
While Cruisair is a good unit, they are also the most expensive to buy and the most expensive to work on. I would seriously consider one of the Dometic or RV Comfort units first. Good Luck, TomC
