Window Size

I am getting ready to order the windows for my MCI 8 project. I am starting with the rear bedroom first. I am not doing a roof raise. What size windows did you al use for this area?

Measure your cut out and then can use Peninsula Glass in Vancouver, Wa.  I had them make my custom double pane windows.  They do a great job-but not cheap. Good Luck, TomC

I wanted the largest size windows possible, with the biggest screen area, so I replaced the OEM windows with stock sized replacements from Peninsula.  As noted not cheap, but they are the only source of OEM duplicate size and fit RV windows for old MCI buses.  If you are going the smooth side RV look route, I think people kind of look at the range of sizes possible based on how they put the smooth sides on, frame out an opening either to fit a stock size they can order, or to fit a surplus window they could buy cheap.

Just got quotes from Motion/Peninsula a week ago. The direct replacement dual panes are approaching $500 each with shipping, the single panes are around $400 with shipping.
3-5k in windows is a bit rich for my blood. Like Brian said, if you're gonna rehab the entire sides of your bus it's a no brainer, skin the sides and put surplus windows from ebay or elkhart in. But if you want to stick to the original window cutouts you're gonna spend some serious cash.

Or you could do what I'm doing and keep your eyes open on adhunter.com (searches all of craigslist) and ebay and hope for the best.

Exactly right,
I didn't plan on skinning my bus, but it was significantly less money to skin the bus and put in the windows I wanted than it was to use the expensive ones.

I'm glad I did it... the bus looks good, and the windows are exactly what I want, where I want.  Plus, it is better insulated.

Heck, i paid 500 for each of my windows and i got them right at the factory in 04. Double pane, dark tint, installed there, and one out of the 6 had to be customized for me.

What is the window size that you used on the rear of your bus. that is the look that I am going for. I am skinning both side and wil not be using any of the OEM windows

The Windows are 24" high x 48" wide.  (23 5/8" x 47 5/8").   One is 24" x 36"
I saw them on Ebay and called the company (they prefer that).  Got a good deal.  I don't remember what I paid.

James, My windows are all 36" high but I raised my roof 9", I liked the look of a taller window,my bedroom ones are 24" wide and I also used penninsula windows they are really nice but are a little pricey. Good luck Jason

If you can find the Kinro windows they are good windows better than most of the RV windows like Hehr,Attwood and SE-GI give Newell a call in Miami OK sometimes they have surplus Kinro windows they are a high end window 

The radius is the most important to me I like the 3 inch corner radius windows

If you're in Logansport you need to come north young man.  Head to Elkhart to the salvage shops...and a little further north to White Pigeon Mi to Bontragers.  I'm sure you can find some surplus windows that will fit your needs...and if not, I'm sure you will find other things that will fit your needs.  Good hunting sir.
