A very bad Monday.
« on: July 09, 2013, 02:01:56 PM »
Was just planning on moving our coach 100 feet and jumping up on wooden ramps so I could actually get leveling jacks underneath. In the process, bounced a little too much and my freshwater tank was apparently not secured very well (will fix that) and it bounced too and broke the pvc to the pump. 100 gallons of water ended up in our bay and then on the ground underneath our drive wheels. This created mud, which got the bus stuck, at which point it began to rain. We then spent the rest of the day getting it up onto ramps...only to slide off the front two completely. Trying to move a trailer slightly to line up with my hitch and was bumping my torso against said trailer to line it up when I managed to crush an unfortunate place hard enough I dropped to my knees immediately for several minutes until my wife found me hunched over and asked what was wrong. I just told her I didn't want kids anyway. Later on I stepped on a board with a large nail sticking through it and managed to get my right foot nice and deep. Can't walk now since foot is swollen and hurts like heck which surprises me...

The good news:
Bus is parked. Not as level as I would like, but whatever. Wife and I are still happily married. Foot is healing...still can't walk, but another day or two I'll be golden. At least it was the freshwater tank and not the "other" one.  :o

Scott, I am not a medical professional or anything like that, but if you stepped on a nail during your unfortunate incident, you really need to get a tetanus shot.  They are good for five years.  Be smart, find a clinic and get the shot.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

That is good news, rusty nails can hook you up with Lock-Jaw, a very serious condition that a lot of folks wish I would get!

Glad to hear you were aware of the dangers associated with it.

Occasionally I arrive at bedtime wishing I had never got out of it in the morning.  Fortunately those days are rare but they really suck when they come round.

No ambulance, no firetruck, no tow truck. Not really a bad day all in all ;D

it's true. i wasn't complaining too much...that's why this thread has a smiley face...but only another bus owner would even get the gist of days like this. no one else would have a clue what it's like.

On the bright side... Tuesday could have only been better?

Thank you for sharing and keeping the humor!  Hope your foot heals up without incident, and kids remain a possibility :)

This is why many lay down a 6" thick concrete pad for the bus. Good Luck, TomC
