cargo slide trays

Hello,

I want to add two slide trays to my MCI 5B cargo hole.
Anyone have a company/product to suggest?
Any advise on installing?

Where are you located? I bought some new at Ickes rv surplus in Montpelier ind for $125 each. Will post a pic later.

Where are you at? I removed two out of my 5C several ago. I found that they take up too much height in the baggage tanks that are already not very high. And they are very heavy. They came with the bus. One is full length (a little less than 8 feet), by 2 or 3 feet wide. The other was for a tool box and is smaller.

I bought 4 and found out that they do take too much height. Kept one and really like it for access to tools and things used regularly. I love it. Sold the other 3 , recovered my money. Lippert makes the ones i bought.

I’m surprised they are too high. I made one for my vending truck and it was only 2-3” high. Haven’t got around to making one for the bus yet will will eventually.

Fred, 2 to 3" is a lot when I only have 24" or so high in the MC5. Now if I had a late model bus with bays you can almost stand upright in, then sliding trays would be great...

2" to 3" might be worth it to not ever have to crawl into a bottom compartment to get to something deep. We built our own slides & gobbled up a mere 1". The trick is to mount the slides to the side of a tray - in that install an overall 1" is lost in the width (1/2" each side) where the bottom of the tray is all but on the floor (1/4" space + thickness of tray bottom material. Our slides are full extension (100%) and rated at 500 lbs. per tray. Love them and don't crawl in any more.  :)

People build those things out roll up garage door rails and rollers,I bought a set of Joey Bed when Walter owned Joey Bed they never worked with a load on them lol I never knew plywood had to be installed in certain direction for strength I do now  8)

I have my batteries on a slide out tray.  The hardware I used for that was supposedly designed for a roll out tray but while it worked it  did not work well.  I recently put a slide out tray that I designed myself in the first bay and having the stuff in the back of the bay more easily available is well worth the trouble and loss of height.  I only lost about two inches but I also gained access to all the stuff in the back  of the bay.
