Building/property update
« on: February 22, 2007, 09:04:27 AM »
I posted this on the other board but know there are some guys that only frequesnt this board so I'm posting it here as well!

FWIW it has gone fairly smooth! On Friday last week the existing slab was cut out 12" deep for the footers and rebarb was placed side by side 5" apart about 5" off the ground. The inspector came out on Tuesday am and signed off on it. Wed. am the concrete came for the footers and it was poured and finished with the upright rebarb installed. Today the block was delivered early am along with the sand to mix the mortar. Cable contracting company finally came out to raise the cable/s going over the driveway because of the 9pm threat the night before of me cutting them if they didn't raise them. That has been going on for a month now! They DID show up at 8:30 am and temporarily raised them to 16'. No work being done today on building but tomorrow if it doesn't rain, the block will be started!

Oh and another thing is we changed the plans from being a 20x30 building to a 20x48. Not high enough for the bus by any means and we knew this going in but big enough to park two cars and still have room to work on my hobbies and projects! After the building is up and dried in, I will wire up more outlets inside and a 50amp pole for my bus or "your" bus if anyone comes and visits! :)

After I accumalate some more funds I will look at maybe an open pole barn or roof over for the bus but I would rather use it instead of park it if you know what I mean!

I have been taking some pictures also and will update them as soon as I find my up-load camera cable!

Oh and the offer still stands to anyone that wants to come and stay a bit! Everyone that has visited so far has just loved the country atmosphere! I promise I won't work the heck out of you if you decide to visit, unless of course you have a specialty we can use for free! :)

Hey Ace!

Sounds good! before you know it you'll have the shop built and be an old retired coot!

I still can't get Cat to let go of her employment so it'll be a while before we can get down there

Ace,
I may take you up on the visit someday, and you are welcome here too.  a place to park with about 5 amps of electric, and fresh water, no dumps.  Must disconnect a toad before driving up and in.
