Triple range automatic transmisson
« on: July 09, 2020, 07:19:20 AM »
What exactly is a triple range automatic transmission? I was looking at some late 1950's FORD school bus chassis brochures. One of the options was an ALLISON tranny called TRANSMATIC(I think) that stated it was a triple range type.
Does this mean it had selectable shift points or something else?

It was a 3 speed transmission with a Allison Torque Converter drive on the rear, there is a well driller here that has one mounted to a 3-71
