Fan to fit Hayden HDA 2305

Ok, I'm taking the conversation to a new level on installing a transmission cooler. I will more than likely be installing the cooler in the engine bay above the area of the tag axle hump on the passenger side. Now, my next question is what would be the recommendation on the fan that it will need (a 24" fan) that will run on 24 volt (?).

You do know the engine oil that runs through the water cooler mounted on the 8v71T is hotter than the transmission temperatures, the only time the Allison will heat up is in the converter mode or with low or high fluid levels

So, your saying that I don't need the remote cooler, and the engine cooler is better? My thinking is to take as much heat off the engine as possible, especially with my radiators being cooled with electric fans. Every bit of advice I've had so far is to install a Hayden cooler and remove those lines from the engine.

When the bus heats up and I pull over to let it cool, it cools to 180 or less within a minute or two (very quickly it seems). Most of the heat is on the driver's side where the transmission cooler is. The other side stays fairly cool. Is that because the transmission is heating up the engine on the driver's side?

How much hotter?,the way the 2 strokes are designed the cooled water from the radiators goes through the cooler first then to the other side. Is that engine a a 8v71T or TA ? and what temperature are you calling hot.I am not saying driving habits are your problem but most of the time with others I find that to be the case or the rack adjustment and timing off on 1 side.Me I would check the Allison temperature to see if it is culprit before adding a air cooler JMW

Forget the water to oil cooler and go to the air to oil one. It will lower engine temps and allow trans to run cooler. Newer coaches finally installed much larger radiators to deal with engine heat. As far as fans, you could run Two 12 volt models in series to accomplish your goal. Btw, that is how the GM dash heater motors are wired for low speed. Check with Summit, Jegs, Amazon, etc to find what you need.
