Building a Macerator pump
« on: December 06, 2020, 10:22:50 AM »
I have purchased 2 of the FloJet pumps over the years made in Mexico for over $200.00 each they have plastic brush holders when they get hot it melts and Flo Jet wanted $159.00 for the worthless motor they don't sell just the brush holder.I thought going the house type garbage disposal route but it was to large and a 115v so I came up with this I have 100 bucks total and it will pump takes about 10 minutes to empty both my tanks through a garden hose 100 ft long,The pump was less than $70.00 (12V) from Amazon the Frenco adapters from ACE,if I could find a 1-1/2 to 3 inch Frenco  I could make it smaller but haven't found 1 yet,This thing works it will pull a vacuum if you close the dump valve you can see the hose collapsing

Do you find that to be necessary, or is it just a convenience? Seems to me that it might let solids stay in the tank if it didn't get a high volume flush now and then.

Jim
I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

I need it sometimes when we stay were there is no sewer hook ups,I have a cleaning system built into the tanks so that breaks ups the solids too

I've got one to use at home since there is no way to dump into our septic via gravity. It drains the tank through the 1" hose as fast as gravity does through a normal sewer hose. Of course, our tank is combined gray & black and as such we never have an issue with solids building up - everything stays a soupy mix that drains easily.

laundry pump? I'm thinking it doesn't chop and grind up poop ball? I always figured you needed to make smoothies before sending down the lines. First time hearing someone has chronic diarrhea.

We have those under the sinks in the restaurants in place of P-traps they work ok for that but as a macerator pump I don't see how it could work, carrying 1-1/2 hose you would need a big clean out mine I dump through a 1-1/2 sink cleanout and I have 2 -5/8 flat roll hoses that take up no space

That would work great with our combined gray/black tank. Everything in there is a constant slurry.

kinda
but it is connected to the original 3" sewer turn connection but I have never had any problems DUMPING or DUMPING the 2 tanks in the 3 years that I have been using it .  I have a 25'  1 1/2" sump pump hose that I use at regular rv dump stations .

but I have a headhunter toilet older but like this
 https://www.headhunterinc.com/product/espresso/

yes I installed a clean out right at the side of the house that goes to the septic system
