As disturbing as that previous link was to read with my morning coffee, I think that this would be more likely the correct one for this bus:

Those are good buses ,they built the first Eagles (Kassbohrer) for Trailways the S417 is a nice bus and they have no association with MCI anylonger.the Setra is a tough bus to convert to RV use only the strong will try it,those are built by Kassbohrer not by M/B  1995 is when M/B acquired Kassborer

Setra and Prevost are the main bus brands running up and down the 101 between San Francisco and Silicon Vallery (pre-COVID). New ones of course, not these old tired beasts. There are hundreds in this area so I'd bet service and parts are very available. If these buses are running and sell for dirt cheap then maybe grab one or two for parts.

No one said parts are not available they are just exspensive, I wonder if those have the steerable tag axles ?,BK here on this board owned 5 Setra at one time the older 215 and the newer 417,Freightliner dealers will work on a Setra  the same Volvo dealers will work on the Prevosts

In may i was in the process of converting my 1989 S215 to a "traveling pet home" actually to hopefully move family with wife son 6 dogs 6 cats from az to oregon then start on a new conversion from ground up. however due to covid19 plans changed and i had to take the RV to orange county ca for a job and live in it. What I found out is that a lot of things i had done or planning changed and living in it and converting has been a bit of a challenge, i am using craigslist extensively and have actually got a very livable 3 bed bus for wife and son along with the 4 remaining dogs and 2 cats.  Even a large soaking tub in the back.  After this job is finished I plan on redoing with what I have learned.  I kept the rear bath, added a shower in it, have small washing machine, two mini fridges, 110 gal fresh water, 55 gal grey, 55 black (still to be plumbed in due to the fact i am on full hookup) Have countertop dishwasher plumbed in, took rv sink stove counter out of salvaged rv, have 2 twin and 1 twin xl beds, kept two rows of seats for dinette (out of salvaged rv as well), used an armoire for clothes closet, tv entertainment center ffor the remainder of kitchen cabinets, 1100 watts solar power, 7.5KW diesel generator, propane furnace, propane tankless water heater, getting ready to install diesel furnace (maybe in place of propane or keep them both) used a portable AC this summer but will be changing to split system. Bottom line is have learned a lot of where i want the next version to go.

Yes Clifford is correct at one time we had 5 Setra's in operation 2 S215's, 1 S217, and 2 S417's we have owned a total of 7 Setra's (4 S215's and the rest of the list above).
They are awesome buses and very fun to drive. Also as Clifford mentioned they are difficult to convert for the faint of heart, but that's what they made GM's, MCI's, Prevost's and others for!
A Setra can be converted into a nice coach with careful planning and a little work.
Yes those 217's should have steering tag axles unless they have been disabled. (many were because the locking cylinders from Setra were very expensive and many chose to bypass them and permanently lock the tags straight. (I had 2 of the S215's that been done that way and sold them both when the opportunity arose!)

I love Setra's they are a well built European coach that are like driving a sports car!
;D  BK  ;D

PS yes the parts come in Mercedes Benz packaging so you feel like your getting your $$$$$$'$ worth!
