They have my prayers. Regardless if we agree or disagree with the reasons why they are deployed, we should always pray and support these fine people.

I served for 25 years. Two of my friends, retired now like me, have sons flying in and out of there right now. Lets all hope they get out of there before there is another attack.
A real shame. Since we were there for 20 years, there is a whole generation that tasted freedom. Especially women able to get an education and work. I fear very quickly that will be over.
And the Afgans will go back to doing what they have done since before Jesus. Kill each other. There are places that will never change. It is just too costly to even try.
Take a minute to put your troubles aside, forget Covid for a few minutes, and be glad you live in the US of A.

Well said. For all of it's problems, America is still the greatest country in the world. We have had good times and bad times. We will get thru this bad period of time though it may take longer. But as long as the Lord Jesus is with us, we can get up in the morning and do what we need to do. Another thing, while it's true that we are in a bad  time now, some people will say and understandably so that it's never been this bad in the world. Again, things go in cycles. My pastor is only 30 years old and has a great perspective on this to the effect that all we have to do is look in the Bible and history book to see that the world has always been overall bad. Always some sort of strife whether it effected America or not. The world wasn't going along just fine and suddenly went bad after they invented TV.

Then it happened all over again & again in a worse way when they invented the computer and then the smart phone! What's next?!
Who knows but we'll keep on keeping on and some of the best times in life is when we're behind the wheel of our 53 dinosaur. :^

That's funny but true that it's a good thing to step back once in awhile and disconnect for a time to calm down.

You know, I'm an old anti-war hippie, and even I knew it was a very bad idea to go into Afghanistan.

Alexander the great barely made it through the mountains alive. The British thought they could just waltz in taking their servants, wine, a whole transport of cigarettes. The Russian thought they could just roll in  with tanks.

Doesn't anybody ever read history?

We built them a nice road in the 60's and for a while they welcomed US travelers- The Hog farm people took a bus through there . At the border they were asked if they had any hashish. When they said no, the guard says: well here, have some!

There is only one Nation on Earth capable of destroying us- and that is US.

We have to stop this craziness- left, right republicans , democrats, North , South, everyone so estranged. What does it take, an alien invasion?

I suspect foreign forces (probably KGB) are manipulating us via internet, pushing us into a defective O.O.D.A loop. (Look it up- it's a strategy, invented by DARPA. In short: how to get you enemy to destroy themselves).

Peace to all, and GB our troops wherever they are.

And please, please guys and gals, get yourselves vaccinated- I know, I know- I'm more or less a libertarian myself. But please, just go do it!

Peace and love, man.

PS. And , no there isn't a secret chip in there-no need. When they want us to have one , all they'll need to do is tell everyone it's the cool, hip thing to do and they'll go out and pay $1200 for it!

our neighbor travelled to Af. a couple of years ago on some type of ag  mission about infrastructure. He said it was really depressing. Very poor water supply and  few potable  sources, no sewer/waste control of any kind, very rocky poor land. Said be easier to move all the people elsewhere than try to develop infrastructure there.
Mineral riches underground is what makes it desirable to control.
Imagine how many of our dollars have been spent there.
