Prevost Parts

Already passed this along to Fred. Go to Visonerv.com and type Prevost bus in the upper left. You will see about 8 Prevost that had a fire or crashed. Some older ones! But don't drool too long. They part them out quickly (as expected I guess). I talked to Terry Blankenship this morning. Nice guy to talk to. I was going to make the trip up there to probably load up on things I don't need since it is only about 3 hours from home and maybe grab a fuel cap for Fred, but they no longer let people walk the lot. (probably sticky fingers jerks)
If you know what you are looking for, they do their best to help. He said they have a catalog on the website that lists what they have. I did not try that yet since I was just looking for the rubber bumpers for the front bumper.

When I looked at the pictures of the buses these guys parted out, I was sure I had found the motherload of Prevost parts! I called later in this same day and they had sold the rubber bumpers that I wanted for my front bumper. They said they usually go out with the entire bumper when someone buys that, which apparently happens very quickly after it comes off the bus!
So if anyone knows an old scrapped or junk Prevost that has those front rubber bumpers, please let me know.
I feel like Charlie Brown - thinking I was about to clobber that football that Lucy is holding.....

It took me most of the afternoon to get my bus ready for a January Florida trip. Check oil, add water, test refer on propane.......Take off training wheels, test new air horn (squeezing the big rubber bulb gave me carpel tunnel), waxing the proud sign on the front (Matchbox Toy)
It is not easy being a mini me Prevost owner.....

 Ted I wouldn't do that. I have been checking everywhere for your parts, no luck yet. everyone was more interested in whether you were wanting to sell yours, knowing how hard it is to find one of those Frenchy sportscars Enjoy your trip to Fla safe travels.

Thanks van. I think Robert has bumpers for me. That is all I was looking for unless I can find a gas cap for Fred. I am meeting with 2 BCM and another old guy bus guys in Florida to shut up and learn about my 6V92 and 24 volt stuff. The other guy (Doc) who some of you know lives in Mt Olive Shores South. He knows a couple of old bus places around there. He thinks he too might know of bumper pads. That will give me 2 for the back! Will take the other list of parts guys are looking for with me. And cash and wrenches. This is fun stuff!!!

The fuel cap on my Prevost is the same as found on many 18-wheeler tanks - a screw-on brass cap with a provision to attach a retainer chain.

Is Fred's not the same style, or is it one of those over-center clamp styles, often found on radiator surge tanks?

Not sure. My Polk city buddy already has us set up to go to a friend's "tear buses up" yard in Lakeland. If I find any of Fred's list I will call him and/send pictures. He said this guy also has some GM and other stuff around. When I see the place I might post pictures of anything good and hope people tell me in time to grab it for them. I will be there a few days.
