Sorry -- Another Insurance Thread
« on: March 31, 2022, 11:14:44 AM »
Hello all,

After filling out a short form on the internet, I got a call from Good Sam.   I was a good boy and never said the dreaded "BUS" word and we got to the point of "Where is it garaged?" and when I told her that we are in NM for the next 3 weeks and then we are going to MT, she said that I have to be in one place for at least 6 months to insure with them.

Who are you all having success with lately?

Thanks

Seb

Happy coaching!

Where is it going to be registered? That's likely going to be the easiest state to get insurance from, even if you are not there are the moment.

Insurance is a state-by-state thing, so you need to find a good independent insurance agent in the state where you want to get insurance and let them do the leg work. They typically get paid by the insurance agent and not you, and I've found that my premium is no higher than if I go directly to the company, plus I have someone that's in the know and can help hand-walk things through underwriting.

All good advise.  Well our mail drop address is SD, so I called an independent there and she gave me a bid ov $204 per year. I think I'll go with that

Done and done,

I was pretty worried about this insurance situation after reading some thread round about here, but I guess I got the right agent and the right company.

Progressive, did all the paperwork by email and e-sign and have a year of coverage for $196.  I don't think there is a way to beat that.

Thanks for you help and input,

Seb

Rita shopped it to death. It is what she does. Progressive won. I think we pay a bit more but she went with the total cost replacement policy because our bus cost about as much as a late model used pickup truck. She explained it to me. All the pros and cons. Cost compare analysis and how she came to her final decision, but I think it was fall, and I was thinking about where my tree stand was going to go....
On a more serious note, do you have coach tow?
Good luck in Montana.
